The Mission Director of Assam Sarba Siksha Abhiyan Mission has issued a new notification regarding the second phase recruitment of contractual teachers in Lower Primary & Upper Primary category for TET qualified candidates against 21,936 vacancies currently available. This is in continuation to the previous two advertisement issued last month which are dated 23rd & 26th June 2012. As we have mentioned in our previous articles, SSA Assam has issued different notification inviting fresh applications from TET passed candidates who have applied earlier in the first phase of recruitment as well as those who didn't apply earlier for the same. You may read more details about it from the following two articles that were published recently regarding the Teachers Recruitment in Assam 2012.

TET Assam Recruitment Phase II:
In connection to the above, it is hereby notified to all concerned candidates that those who have been applying for this teachers recruitment in Assam can avail relaxation for upper age limit by applying to the Director of the Elementary Education Assam. This is applicable for both the candidates who are applying online as well as those who needs to submit their application form manually. As such, all the applicants who are above 38 years in case of General and above 45 years for SC/ST/PH category can apply for age condonation in written including the following details in the application.

  • Candidate's Name
  • Father's Name
  • TET Exam Roll Number (as applicable):
    • Paper I
    • Paper II
  • Date of Birth (with age proof certificate)
However, it must be noted here that the upper age limit that is allowed for applying to relaxation is upto 45 years only which is meant for all the categories of candidates. Applications for age condonation in the office of Director, Elementary Education, Assam will be accepted upto 8th July 2012.

District Selection by TET Candidates in 2nd Phase Recruitment Assam

As per the rules for this new recruitment of Assistant Teachers in schools of rural areas of Assam, it is mandatory for the applicants to mention their preference of 4 districts as per their own choice. As you can see here that there is also a 4th district preference which is newly added this time and has to be selected by the candidate who have already applied online as well as those applying manually. However, they will not be able to select districts falling under 6th schedule areas such as Baska, Chirang, Dima-Hasao, Karbi Anglong, Kokrajhar and Udalguri. The preference for these districts are available to only those candidates who belong to those places. Moreover, non-bengali medium candidates or those whose language selection during filling-up of TET form was not Bengali should not give preference in the districts of Barak Valley as mentioned in the notification.
